This short story (before morphing into a series) won 3rd place in a global contest run by the Indie publisher: Fresh Ink Group. I had never written a short story before, and thought because it attracted some attention, maybe I should develop the idea into a series. Thank you Stephen Geez and Fresh Ink Group for including my story in your diverse collection.
Because I just found out about the publication 5/23/18 (I used a different email back when the contest ran), I am pleasantly surprised by this latent knowledge.
